Offering a Member Assistance Program (MAP) has been proven to help Union members and their families with personal
and work-related concerns. Implementing and promoting a MAP provides early intervention and helps members balance
work responsibilities and their personal lives. Member Assistance Programs produce positive results for both
Members and the Union.

FACT: A 2007 paper studied the ROI of the MAP program at Amtrak. The Amtrak MAP program avoided $1,850 in employer injury costs per employee per year with a corresponding benefit-cost ratio of 26:1
